My Light Organ
The light organ was an easy build which consisted of 2 Ic chips, 7 transistors, 4 capacitors, 11 resistors, 1 microphone, 2 dials, and 25 (green, red, yellow) LEDs. The capacitors store energy from the 9 volt battery and the resistors regulate the amount of energy that goes to the IC chips and the LEDs. The 2 dials help change the pattern speed and sensitivity of the LEDs and the microphone.
The hardest part of building the light organ was first learning how to use the soldering iron and then figuring out where and how to place all the transistors, resistors, etc… Here is a video of me showing it working:
