There are different components, the frame, the solar panel, and the servo. The solar panel sits on the frame. Inside the frame, the servo communicates with the Arduino to change directions of the solar panel to get as much sunlight as possible.

First Milestone

First Milestone Description

For my first milestone for the Solar Panel Phone Charger, I was able to get my servos to rotate based on the amount of light each photoresistor receives. I had to program my Arduino to communicate with my photoresistor and servo.

Second Milestone

Second Milestone Description

For the second milestone, I was able to mount my servos onto my chassis, which is in charge of my solar panel to rotate from east and west. This is important because this will allow my solar panel to receive the most solar energy within its capacity. The way my solar panel would rotate is based on my readings from my LDR (photoresistor). There are one LDR on each side of my panel, east side and west side. The amount of light that my LDR reads will vary based on the sunlight each LDR receives. Once that happens, the LDR will signal my Arduino, which then will run a code, that allows my servo to rotate the panel the direction where there is the most sunlight. It is important to receive the most amount of sunlight because of the more sunlight, the more output voltage (charge exiting).
