Hello, my name is Cesar and I am a senior at KIPP Denver Collegiate High School. My starter project was the light organ from Chaney electronics. The light organ produces a colorful display with LEDs by a sound input. This project uses a few important parts for the desired function. The resistors used here slow the current in the circuit so the flow won’t be too much to burn out the LEDs. Capacitors make sure the voltage is well distributed in the circuit. The signal from the microphone goes through the two ICs and the seven transistors to allow the LEDs to light up in a certain order. I liked building this kit because I learned about all the parts’ functions and just putting it together. I also enjoyed soldering the parts to the board, but it was very tedious since the leads were really close together.
