HOW WE GOT STARTED
Robin Mansukhani and Dave Young were both working in technology but continued to volunteer for mentoring or teaching programs. They came to see that these academic programs were not offering real-world experience in technology.
Robin and Dave kept hearing from their customers that they wanted technology that was simple – but created high-value products that work. They wondered why students weren’t learning in a way that could help them for future jobs in the technology industry.
So, they decided to create just such an experience. BlueStamp Engineering is a learning experience – with an emphasis on experience. There aren’t lectures, exams, or tests. Instead, the program helps students, tap into their motivation to learn by building. BlueStamp Engineering was created to teach the most relevant and useful technology to students through experiential learning.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Whether it’s our in-person summer program, remote summer program, or our remote after school program (Projects with Friends), we hold the same values in teaching students.
- Create a fun program that instills a love of building.
- Teach students skills by using industry tools.
- Foster self-directed learning in students.
- Have students ask why am I learning this.
- Encourage students to innovate on their base project.
- Promote self-advocacy and promotion of work.
- Provide small student to staff ratios.
